Join the Parade!

The United Irish Societies of San Francisco (UIS) is pleased to invite your group to participate in the 174th St Patrick’s Day Parade in San Francisco. The 2025 parade will take place on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 11:30am.

Parade Theme : The Immigrants Story

The parade will start at 2nd & Market Streets at 11:30 AM and will proceed along the following route: Northwest on Market Street to McAllister, right on McAllister to Dr. Carlton Goodlett Place passing the reviewing stand in Civic Center Plaza across from City Hall, main entrance. The parade will then proceed to Grove Street and disband.

In order for your group to enter a Unit , the parade application must be received online (UISSF.org) or by mail by Saturday March 1st 2025. The completed application includes a questionnaire, a detailed description of your entry, a signed liability agreement, your entrance fee made payable to United Irish Societies by check or credit card and any required Certificate of Insurance (see below). Note the UIS May modify your Units description for brevity and relevance to the Parade. The order of Units in the parade will be determined by the UIS.

Please no throwing of beads or other objects that could harm onlookers.

No Drinking or Smoking on Parade Route.

By Submission of your parade application you agree to abide by the following:

  1. THE ARE NO DOUBLE DECKER BUSES ALLOWED THIS YEAR. NO DOUBLE DECKER BUSES ALLOWED THIS YEAR!!! BY ORDER OF MUNI.
  2. Your performance at the reviewing stand will be one minute or less in length. Each school of Irish Dance will be allowed to perform for a maximum of two minutes per school. 
  3. Your Unit will cooperate with all parade marshals and law enforcement along the parade route. Groups not cooperating with the parade officials shall be immediately removed from the parade. Floats , large trucks, motorcycles, equestrian and cable cars must provide a certificate of insurance (due with application).
  4. This application is subject to the approval of the parade committee.
